Bike storage’s stand alone ‘Link’ bike shelter has been delivered as part of the ACT government’s Park and Ride initiative in Weston.
Bike Shelter Australian Standards Compliant
The Australian Standards AS2890.3 compliant bike shelter features secure bicycle parking for 24 bikes with a mixture of ground mounted bike racks and wall mounted bike racks in Bike Storage’s signature orange bicycle racks.
The architectural bike shelter designed, supplied and installed by www.bikestorage.com.au is accessed via secure swipe card access and has been built to support multi modal transport use. Cyclists will ride to the secure bike parking and park before catching the bus into the city for the final leg of their trip.
Sustainable and Australian
The Link bike shelter uses recycled hardwood sourced from old telegraph poles and has been designed to sit comfortably on the site. The orange bike racks are Australian made from Australian steel and offer a distinct alternative to existing bike infrastructure.
Park and Ride aims to reduce car only trips and in turn the need for additional road capacity and demand for parking in the city and major employment centres. It also aims to reduce the level of congestion on ACT roads says Transport for Canberra’s website.
